I am so sorry to hear of Dan's passing. Dan and I worked together for many years at Bronson Vicksburg Hospital. Dan was always willing to help with any of the Rehab needs and I truly knew the building better than anyone else I know. He always would say "smile" if I wasn't, had a good sense of humor and I loved his relaxed attitude.

So very sorry to the family of Dan! I worked with Dan at Bronson Vicksburg Hospital for many, many years. I remember him as always being calm, cool and collected even under strenuous times. I admired his calm and friendly demeanor. There wasn't a task that we approached Dan about that needed attention in the laboratory that he couldn't tackle. I saw Dan recently on a visit to Bronson Hospital. We talked about the good old days and then we shared about trials we were both going through. I didn't realize that his situation was so dire! Rest In Peace my friend!

An honest man here lies at rest,
As e’er God with His image blest:
The friend of man, the friend of truth;
The friend of age, and guide of youth:
Few hearts like his, with virtue warm’d,
Few heads with knowledge so inform’d:
If there’s another world, he lives in bliss;
If there is none, he made the best of this.

Dan, I can't believe you are gone already. God speed my friend. We had some great funny moments since 1991. I will miss your mischievous ways. I can hear your laughter now as you picked on me at Bronson Vicksburg. You always stopped a moment to say Hi when our paths crossed at Bronson. Good times. My deepest sympathies to his Family.

A GARDEN PATH was sent on April 24, 2017

Years ago you brought a smile to the heart of a young country girl. You were a beautiful ray of sunshine to so many. My husband knew how you are part of who I am today. He hugged me knowing how this hurts. May God bring comfort to your family. With a heavy heart, Steve and Diane "Amos" Webster.

Danny was my neighbor and friend from Kindergarten through 12th grade. In adulthood I saw him very infrequently but my memory of him is vivid. He was a sweet, kind and generous kid. Eternal rest grant unto him and may perpetual light shine upon him. Rest in peace Danny.

I can't seem to find the words to express the sadness I'm feeling. I've always had a special place in my heart for you all, and I pray that you comfort each other and allow God to comfort you as well. There's nothing I can tell you about Danny that you don't already know but I will cherish the memories of our childhood and all the times we had at Grandma & Grandpa's farm; especially how after Christmas brunch Danny ALWAYS got the couch for a nap! We love you all and will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.... The Wisconsin McElvains

I am having a difficult time focusing since I received the terrible, but much appreciated, phone call on your passing...My heart goes out to your family. What a total gem you were.

I know so many will agree...Your smile lit up a room. Your laughter was so very contagious. Your eyes peered into the kindest most caring soul...And you had this walk that only you could walk. A walk with purpose and your own special... stride. ;)

I was so happy to have had your friendship way back when and was so very surprised that 31 years later I see this familiar face on my Facebook.

My memories of you in jean bib overalls or blue jeans and a jean jacket faded as your attire had changed. And your thick dark hair with curls on the end was replaced by a shorter style with twinges of gray. still had that smile.

We caught up with our lives from 31 years ago to present day...We shared laughter and heartaches. And we both talked and talked just like we had in our younger days. I realized just as I did with 22 years of military life that when you leave your good friends behind and reunite years later, it is like time stands still.

I can't even begin to think of the many hearts that ache. Thankfully, we are promised everlasting life and with that, may that promise comfort your family and loved ones. And may your children see glimpses of you in their children. And may that make their heart smile

I appreciated your friendship, Dan. I know you know. But I just had to say it....

(I am so very sorry I won't be able to pay my respect at Dan's memorial on Thursday evening. I would have been there if I could...We leave from Virginia at 6AM on Friday for a 9-hour drive South. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you...)

We had the honor and pleasure to work with Dan for many years both at Bronson Vicksburg and Bronson Methodist Hospital(s). Dan was an amazing man whom was so soft spoken and just incredibly nice. He was a true angel among us and we only hope that we can follow in his footsteps and bring as much joy and happiness to those around us and he did for all around him. Dan you will be sorely missed, thank you for being our friend and showing us your friendship and love for so many years.

Trying to find the right words.... I was so shocked , and so saddened to hear of Dan's passing. Doesn't seem possible , and certainly not fair, that such a Truly Wonderful Man was taken from this life way too soon.. Dan was a class act , all the way, all the time. He never spoke an unkind word about anyone.. . Gentle, sweet, genuine Soul. I miss the BVH days with Dan. My Prayers go out to his whole family. Until we meet again My Friend. This world will never be the same without you in it.
