Arthur Robert Heagney

November 5, 1948 ~ October 29, 2019 (age 70)



Passed away, Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at Bronson Battle Creek Hospital. He was born November 5, 1948, in Attleboro, Massachusetts, the son of Joseph Heagney and Alfhild Skulstad Heagney. He attended BCCHS until his junior year, moved to Illinois, graduated in 1966 from Homewood Flossmore HS. He then moved back to Battle Creek, worked in Real Estate, became a Real Estate Broker for more than 30 years, he also was employed at Sears. Art married Sheryl Shelton Heagney in 1970, their marriage ended in divorce after 39 years. Together they had 3 children. Art is survived by a daughter, Melissa Maxam, son, Jeffrey Heagney both of Battle Creek and daughter, Jennifer Heagney of Maui, Hawaii. He had three grandson’s he was very proud of Jaylen Heagney of Battle Creek, Andrew Maxam of Battle Creek and Elijah Heagney of Maui, Hawaii. A sister-in-law, Lori Stewardson-Heagney of Mills River, North Carolina; two nieces, Emma and Abby Heagney. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Heagney when Art was only 18 months old. His mother, Alfhild Skulstad Heagney and a brother Eric Heagney.  Art liked spending time with his grandsons. He loved to read, collected model trains and was able to talk to anyone about any subject. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Stroke Association. Arrangements by the Richard A.
