Lorel M. Buschke

July 27, 1931 ~ September 24, 2019 (age 88)

Lorel M. Buschke, age 88, of Battle Creek, passed away on September 24, 2019 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo.  She was born on July 27, 1931 in Milwaukee, WI., the daughter of Charles and Irene (DeTheir) Tracy.  Lorel graduated from Riverside High School in Milwaukee, and later came to Battle Creek in 1972 from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania.  She was formerly employed as a secretary at Lawson Printers, and the Battle Creek Federal Center, retiring in 1993.  Following retirement, she was a tour guide at the Cereal City Museum.  She was a member at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Lorel enjoyed reading, walking, gardening, boating, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren.  She was united in marriage in 1953 to Robert Buschke, he preceded her in death in 2007.  Surviving are her children; Paul (Tina) Buschke of Cape Coral, FL., Michael Buschke of Tampa, FL., Robert Buschke, David (Lee) Buschke, Christopher Buschke, and Mary Liggett, all of Battle Creek.  Sisters; Murel Sykes, Dai Kunert, and Patricia Hildenbrand, all of Milwaukee.  Grandchildren; Gregory, Katie, Jeremy, Adam, Meghan, Riley, Nicholas, great-grandchildren; Reese and Seger.  Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2019 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, followed by a recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.  A memorial Mass is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 30, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Inurnment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of SW Michigan or the American Heart Association.  Condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
