Gloria Huff

Battle Creek

Gloria Jean Huff, age 71, passed away Monday, August 16, 2021 at Bronson Kalamazoo. She was born December 25, 1949 in Marshall, Michigan to Donald and Doris (Frohm) Wilson. She was the “middle” child of four children, all preceded her in death.

Gloria graduated from Marshall High School then a month later married the love of her life, Ronald Huff, on July 20, 1968. They welcomed a daughter two years later.

In her youth, Gloria worked as a waitress at the Dinner Bell restaurant. After marrying, she worked a short time in claims at State Farm and Kellogg’s. The majority of her adulthood was spent at home with her family as a homemaker.

She and her husband moved to the farm that family and friends referred to as “Huff’s Hill” in September 1977. Here she and her family ventured to grow vegetables and fruits and tended livestock (horses, cattle, goats, chickens, rabbits, dogs and cats). Gloria and her husband also loved fishing and traveling/camping. They shared that passion with their family creating many lasting memories. Gloria became a member of Newton United Methodist Church. There she enjoyed helping with power point presentations and running the audio/visual for services.

Gloria was also known as a “Jill of all trades”. She was always willing and able to help others with taxes, insurance, cooking, cleaning, sewing (even a last minute Halloween costume or two), running electrical wiring or anything else that was needed. If she didn’t know how to do it, you could bet she would research it and get it done!

She is survived by her loving husband, Ron; daughter, Heather (Shane) Ashley; grandsons Aaron (Laura) Ashley, Nicholas Ashley, Logan (Whitney) Ashley; great-grandchildren Lily, Ryker, Ava and Hudson, special nephew, Sean Huff and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021, from 2 to 6:00 p.m., at 7850 B Drive N, Battle Creek, MI 49014. If Inclement weather, the Celebration of Life will be held at Newton United Methodist Church.  Memorial donations can be made to Newton United Methodist Women. Arrangements by the Richard A.
