John Weipert

John P. Weipert, age 71, of Battle Creek passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Bronson Battle Creek following a brief illness.  He was born February 7, 1951, in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Leo and Margaret (Story) Weipert.  John was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Lakeview High School in 1969.  He previously worked at Miller Wholesale as a commercial delivery driver, was a stocker at Lowes and currently was a commercial delivery driver at Finish Master for the past five years.  John was an avid sports fan, with a passion for University of Michigan.  He enjoyed playing golf and softball, NASCAR and traveling.  He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, James Weipert.  John was united in marriage on August 26, 1979, in Marshall, Michigan to Margaret “Peggy” Bradley, she survives.  Also surviving are his children; Lisa and Lorri Gillett of Battle Creek, Troy Gillett of Scotts; sister Sharon Dheel of Harbor Beach; six grandchildren: Joshua, Zachary, David, Tyler, Casey and Courtney; six great grandchildren: Aiden, Justin, Braylan, Kynslee, Isaac and Kili; two nieces, Cindy Carter of Battle Creek and Mary Weiss of Harbor Beach; great niece Lexi of Battle Creek, three great nephews, Jake, Dilan and Bentley all of Battle Creek and one great-great nephew Ryan. Funeral service scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Monday, November 21, 2022, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  A time for sharing stories and memories will follow the service with a meal at the funeral home.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, ASPCA, or American Cancer Society.  Condolences and memories may also be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
