Katherine Craven

Katherine Inez Craven, age 94, of Battle Creek, went home to be with her Lord Jesus Christ, Monday, September 13, 2021. She was born May 30, 1927 in Bedford Township, Michigan the daughter of Wayne Francis and Bonnie Bernice (Berkimer) Knoll. Katherine graduated from Argubright Business College and worked for Calhoun County Friend of the Court for thirteen years as well as Hackett Construction for three years. She was a member of the A.B.W.A. and was awarded Woman of the Year in 1992. She attended Calvary Baptist Church of Battle Creek. Katherine enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and cross-stitch. She was an avid gardener, and especially enjoyed her gladiolas.  On February 25, 1949, she was married to Norman Craven at the First United Methodist Church of Battle Creek. He preceded her in death in July of 2018. She was also preceded by her parents, two sisters: Elaine VanSyckle and Lois Vale, and son-in-law: Greg Johnson. Katherine is survived by three daughters: Judy (Darl) Dalman, Janette (Stan) Felder and Jean (John) Johnson Cofer; seven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
