Phillip Bosrock, Jr.

January 11, 1974 — September 2, 2019

Phillip S. Bosrock Jr, 45, of Battle Creek, went home to our Lord Monday, September 2, 2019 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. He passed peacefully with his family by his side. Phillip was born January 11, 1974 in Battle Creek, the middle child of Phillip S. Bosrock Sr. and Maryann (Wright) Meyer. As a young boy, Phillip enjoyed baseball, rocket football, cub scouts and bike riding with neighborhood friends. He was an altar server at St Joseph Catholic Church and attended St. Joseph Elementary. Entering his teen years, he loved hunting and fishing. A 1992 Lakeview High School graduate, he nurtured his love of music as a member of the Spartanaires and as a saxophonist in marching band. He had a natural musical talent and also played piano and guitar. Phillip enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served our nation aboard the USS Roosevelt during Operation Desert Storm during the Persian Gulf War. Following his service, he took an apprenticeship under his Uncle Henry Wright at his machine shop in Warren, Michigan. Upon his return to Battle Creek, Phillip was employed for many years as a master machinist. He truly enjoyed the field and took great pride in his work. Socially, he took much enjoyment hosting backyard barbecues and had an affinity for animated storytelling. Perhaps his greatest accomplishments were his children. Phillip married on February 13, 2003, and had two beautiful children, Phillip Stephen III and Isabella Kathryn. He loved sharing his love of music with them, encouraging his son's talent on the keyboard, and composing and singing bedtime songs with his little girl. Phillip is survived by his children, Phillip S Bosrock III, 14, Isabella Kathryn Bosrock, 6 and Kaylee Jade Kilpatrick, 20; parents: Phillip S. Bosrock Sr, and Maryann and Richard Meyer; siblings: Angela (Paul) English, Matthew Bosrock, Ricky Meyer, Erica Meyer and Rebecca Meyer; 9 nieces and nephews and 1 great niece. He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, 2 uncles and 1 cousin. The family will receive friends at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home on Thursday, September 12th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at St Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Phillip has a large extended family and many lifelong friends whom he loved dearly and who will miss his wit, humor and laughter. Rest in peace, Syrup.
