Stanley Wilk

Stanley “Stasiu”  Wilk, age 88, of Battle Creek, passed away on October 21, 2020 at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit.  He was born on July 27, 1932 in Battle Creek, the son of John and Mary (Szmyd) Wilk.  Stanley was a lifelong area resident of Battle Creek.  He was employed at US Registry where he carried a boiler licence in the state of Michigan, worked at Post Cereal in Battle Creek as a millwright and retired in 1987 after 32 years.  Stanley was a member of the American Legion Post 298, PNA Club  Lodge 2416 and the Post 25 Year Club.  He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, playing cards and was an all around “Jokester.”  Stanley proudly served in the United States Army in the Korean conflict where he was wounded in battle.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; Jacqueline Wilk, sisters; Irene Mellich and Delores Billingston, brothers; Chester, Tommy and John Wilk.  Surviving are his children; Stan (Karla) Wilk of Battle Creek, Richard Wilk of North Dakota, Paula (Don) Greenfield of Battle Creek, Dana (Hutch) Hutchinson of Battle Creek, Roxanne Seat of St. Joseph, Anthony (Renee) Seat of Battle Creek, Surviving siblings; Emily Lentych of South Bend, IN., Patricia Gresley, Julia Shirk, brothers; Jack (Kuba) and Louie Wilk, all of Battle Creek, Eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.  Funeral services with military honors are scheduled 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 28, 2020 at the Memorial Park Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Oscar Brady Post 298.  Memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
