William Smith, Jr.

William H. Smith Jr., age 79, of Battle Creek, passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2021. He was born April 26, 1942, in Coldwater, Michigan the son of William Howard and Mary Alice (VanDyke) Smith. Bill loved his family very much. He leaves behind his fiancé Linda Dyer, daughter Cathy “Cat” Rist, granddaughter Violet, stepdaughter Kristen Johnson, stepson James Dyer, step-grandchildren: Sarah Dyer, Trevor Dyer and Tyler Johnson, brother Allen (Judy) Smith, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Russell “Rusty” Matthew Smith. Bill enjoyed car shows and working on old cars, gardening, puzzles and building things. He was a wonderful, loving man who could always make you smile. Graveside services were held at Memorial Park Cemetery.
