Annette A. Wolf

Annette Wolf, 84, of Battle Creek, Michigan, died May 17th, 2023 at NorthPointe Woods Assisted Living. She was born August 22nd, 1939 in Battle Creek, Michigan, daughter of Charles and Esther (Rosborough) Mauk .

Annette attended Lakeview High School, later graduating from Wright’s Beauty Academy in 1960. Annette married Larry Wolf on January 5th, 1963. Working as a stylist for many years, Annette was dearly loved by her clients. She fondly used to refer to herself as “hair burner”. In addition to years spent as a cosmetologist, she successfully operated The Belmond Motor Lodge in Belmond, Iowa with her husband Larry, until his passing on January 24th, 2002. Annette and Larry shared a love for golf, traveling, and family. She always admired Larry’s intelligence, humor, and the life they created. After his death, Annette was again blessed with love and companionship with Cam McLeay of Westminster, SC.

She loved garage saling, golfing, and bowling; even winning league championships with her mother Esther, sister Cecil, and dear friend and sister-in-law Pat Gentry.

Annette was nothing if not memorable. She will be remembered as a force of nature, quick to laugh with an even quicker wit, with an endless supply of funny sayings and stories. She had a spine made of steel and an “I won’t back down” attitude. One never had to guess what was on her mind. All that were lucky enough to be loved by her, and there were many, were better because of it.

She is survived by sons Rick (Angel) Wolf, Kirk (Karen) Wolf, Marty (Krista) Wolf; Grandchildren Shana Wolf, Ryan (Sam) Wolf, Stevi (Trevor) Hegner, Breana (Treyvan) Wolf; 7 great grandchildren who adored her; Sister Cecil (Robert) Tatro; Many nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Larry Wolf, brother Darrell (Debbie) Mauk, companion Cam McLeay.

According to her wishes cremation has taken place.

Burial of ashes will take place at 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 9th, 2023 at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta
