For over 50 years, families in Battle Creek and the surrounding communities have turned to the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home for assistance and guidance when faced with the loss of a loved one. What begins as a small, English Tudor style home, purchased by Richard and Shirley Henry in August of 1963 has become one of the areas most recognized names in funeral service.
In May of 2015, Richard A. Henry passed away and the funeral home was purchased by long time employee, Thomas C. Coleman and Joseph U. Stasa the following year. The tradition of being a truly family owned, and operated funeral home has continued.
The change of ownership has brought about many updates and renovations and those continue to be made with the comfort and convenience of the families served in mind. One of those being the change of name to Richard A. Henry Funeral Home and Cremation Services, to better reflect the changing traditions in funeral service. A few of the other updates and renovations being the atrium, which is unique to the funeral home and has been converted into a Reflections Garden for the use of the families and their friends which we are privileged to serve. The funeral home includes two spacious chapels for funeral and memorial ceremonies, visitations, memorial gatherings, and a variety of tastefully appointed rooms for family and visitors to gather, as well as a large, well-lit parking area.
