Arleta (Severance) Mack, 90, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on April 14th, 2026. She was born on May 29, 1935, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Ashley) Severance.

Arleta was a 1953 graduate of Hastings High School and attended Culver School for her earlier education. Right after graduation, she started work with Clark Equipment. A devoted employee, she retired from there in 1985. After retiring she enjoyed weekly get-togethers with other Clark retirees for many years. Arleta was affectionately known as “Pete” by her co-workers and family members.

Arleta married Robert Mack on August 30, 1959. Enjoying 55 years together, Bob passed in 2015.

Arleta enjoyed gardening, chickens, crocheting, laughing and most of all her family. Many nieces and nephews remember “Aunt Pete” sitting around the kitchen table on Sunday afternoons with her sisters laughing, joking and eating. A true hen party!

Arleta is survived by her children, Linda (Ed) Martin of Sun City West, AZ, Laurie Troutner also of Sun City West, Robert (Carol) Mack II of Hastings, MI, Trina Mack of Battle Creek, MI, and Kendra (Brian) Tossava of Hastings, MI; her grandchildren, Paul (Kim) Richards of Port Huron, MI, Donald Richards III, Cody Mack of Battle Creek, Shane Tossava, Jordan Mack and Shelby Mack all of Hastings, MI; and 6 great- grandchildren. Arleta is also survived by her sisters Jacqueline Whidby of Battle Creek, Erma Hensel from Tustin, Michigan, and Denise Cook of Caldwell, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert; brothers Everett and Clarence; sisters Winifred Langbridge, Genevieve Crumback, Lucille Newberry, and Phyllis Birman; a granddaughter, Morgan Bialke.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Johnstown Township Hall, 13641 M-37, Battle Creek, MI, on Saturday, May 9th from 1-4pm.
