Barbara Ann Osborn, age 87, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2024, at the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility with her family by her side. She was born on February 11, 1937, in Battle Creek, Michigan, the daughter of Leonard and Ethel (Lockwood) Day. Barbara had a fulfilling life dedicated to caring for others. For two decades, she owned and operated a day care out of her home, nurturing and shaping young minds with love and compassion. Her commitment to providing a safe and loving environment for children left a lasting impact on all those she cared for. In addition to her successful career in childcare, Barbara found joy in various hobbies and interests. She had a passion for bowling, playing Bingo and taking care of animals. She displayed her creativity through crocheting beautiful pieces. Her talents and interests enriched her life and brought happiness to those around her. Barbara attended St. Joseph and St. Philip Catholic Church in Battle Creek, also actively participating in the Lion and Lioness Club in Bedford and being part of the Red Hat Society. Her dedication to her community and faith exemplified her kindhearted nature and unwavering spirit. Barbara was united in marriage in 1955 to Maurice W. Osborn, he preceded her in death along with her parents, Leonard and Ethel Day, grandson, Travis Osborn, and great grandchildren, William Osborn and Kylee Tennant.  Barbara is survived by her children David (Penny) Osborn, Mark (Kim) Osborn, Tina (Frank) Gambino, Connie (Dave Funk) Schuemann; her adoring 15 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.  

A private graveside service to honor Barbara's life will be held at a later date at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Barbara's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.  Memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
