Bernice E. Griffin, 93, of Battle Creek died Saturday January 4, 2014 at the Oakes at NorthPointe Woods. She was born on January 19, 1920 in Battle Creek to William and Ethel (Miles) Vaughan.
Bernice was united in marriage on May 9, 1947 to Albert Griffin, he preceded her in death in 2001.
She is survived by a son, Jeffery S. Griffin, of Battle Creek, sisters, Ethel Mae Bennett, of Corry, PA and Betty (L.G.) Nelson, of Battle Creek, nieces, Karla (Gary) Fales, and her special niece Delores Kindy, and several other nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, William and Robert Vaughan, and a sister, Charlotte Mapes.
Bernice enjoyed the soaps on tv, and her cats.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. A service at Ft. Custer National Cemetery will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to Humane Society of South Central Michigan.
