Betty Root

Betty Ann Root, Age 88, Of Battle Creek, Died Friday, October 30, 2015, at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She was born on March 26, 1927, in Sturgis, Michigan to Owen and Marietta Decker. She retired as a registered nurse in 1986 from the former Leila P. Hospital in Battle Creek. Betty was married to Stanley E. Root on February 26, 1949 in Battle Creek. Survivors are her two daughters, Rebecca Sue (Fred) Campbell of Battle Creek and Janet Kay (Timothy) Mecomber of North Las Vegas, Nevada; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and her husband, Stanley. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 3, 2015, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum.
