Bobby Ray Bagwell was born in Mississippi County, AR, on August 17, 1938, the third child of Emmett G. Bagwell and Ruby Inez(Chism)Bagwell. Bob passed on April 17th, 2026 at Bronson Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan. In the 1950s he moved with his family from the farm in Arkansas to Michigan. Bob graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1956. Before graduation, he was hired by Mr. Knapp to work at Bill Knapp's restaurant. This became his career for more than 38 years retiring as a vice president. Bob is survived by his wife Marie(Grevers) Bagwell who he married on April 18th, 1959, at St. Philip Church. They had five children. David Alan Bagwell (Beth), Michael Edward Bagwell(deceased), Steven Thomas Bagwell, Kenneth Joseph Bagwell, and Janet Marie (Bagwell) Rice(Darrell). Also surviving are siblings; Shirley McKay and Peggy Schell. Preceding him in death were two brothers; Floyd Edward Bagwell and Thomas Douglas Bagwell. There are 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bob was foremost a husband, father, and a friend. He was a collector of lawn mowers, trailers, and things that didn't run. If Bob couldn't make you laugh, you probably did not have a sense of humor. After retiring, Bob enjoyed being outdoors on his small farm in East Leroy, spending time with family, and sharing stories. The family will be having a small private service.
