Passed away after an unexpected hospital stay on January 8, 2024, with her daughter by her side. Carol was born on November 5, 1942, in Battle Creek, to Joseph and Florence (Walker) Evans. She attended Battle Creek Public Schools and met the love of her life, Ray Feltner and they were married a short time after on November 15, 1956, in Kentucky. They settled down in Michigan soon after. Carol loved to cook and enjoyed playing “Rummy” and other card games. She liked working in her beautiful flower garden. Carol went to church every Sunday for many, many years. Most of all she loved her family. Carol worked for Battle Creek Public Schools as a playground supervisor and in food service. Surviving is a daughter, Judy (Jerry) Gillaspie; a brother, Joe Evans; grandsons, Brian and Zachary Goff; step-granddaughter, April Gillaspie and a stepson, Jerry (Jill) Gillaspie; 5 beautiful step- great grandchildren and many very special nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents, all step-brothers and sisters and her husband. A short graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m.,  on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Fort Custer National Cemetery followed by a luncheon at East Leroy Community Church at 3:30 p.m. Arrangements by the Richard A.
