Carolyn E. Richar

Carolyn E. Richar, age 82, of Battle Creek, passed away on March 29, 2023, at Bickford Assisted Living.  She was born on February 14, 1941 in Marshall, MI., the daughter of Donald M. and Elaine A. (Miller) Eyre.  Carolyn graduated in 1959 from Marshall High School.  She previously live in Marshall and Ceresco before making her home in Battle Creek.  She worked as a banker for Old Kent Bank for ten years, and later worked for Party City and Sam’s Club as a greeter during the summers.  She was a member of the Kellogg Retiree’s Association, Flaky Flyers RV Group, and First Christian Church.  Carolyn loved people, working around her home, and traveling with her family.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son; Randy Richar in 1985.  Carolyn was united in marriage on June 27, 1959 to Jerry Richar, he survives.  Also surviving are her son, Jeffrey Richar of Battle Creek, sister Marilyn Walters and brother, Marvin (Barbara) Eyre, both of Battle Creek.  The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 3, 2023 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services.  Funeral service scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery Chapel.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan.  Memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
