Cheryl Rosalie Coffman

Cheryl Rosalie Coffman, born March 7, 1942, in Battle Creek, passed away peacefully at her home on September 28, 2026. She will be remembered as a devoted family woman, a faithful church member, and someone who found joy in both work and the simple pleasures of life.

On December 23, 1964, in Battle Creek, Michigan, Cheryl married Dale Leroy Coffman. Together, they built a life that was shaped by commitment, hard work, and family. She worked alongside her husband at Coffman Printing Co. from 1964 until 1997. After those many years in the family business, she continued her working life at Kellogg Community Federal Credit Union from 1998 until her retirement.

Cheryl was a member of Urbandale Baptist Church, where she also enjoyed singing in the church choir. Her faith and fellowship were important parts of her life. She loved fishing, traveling, singing, and playing cards, and those who knew her will remember the warmth and happiness she brought to those moments.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Patty) Nelson, Carl (Rhonda) Coffman, Edward Corkins, and Larry (Dana) Corkins; her stepchildren, Chris (Dale) Ellass, Laura Dennis, and Dale Coffman; her sister, Mavis Hudson and her brother Ira Smith. She also leaves behind the many family members and friends whose lives were enriched by her presence and love.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Coffman; her father, LeRoy Smith; her mother, L’Veta (Ovenshire) Smith; her daughter, Teresa Slight; her brother Louis smith and her grandson, Nicholas Coffman. Their memories remained part of her life and were held close in her heart.

Visitation will be held on October 1, 2026, from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home, 703 Capital Ave SW, Battle Creek, Michigan. A memorial service will follow there at 3:00 p.m. Cheryl will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. In leu of flower donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
