Cheryl Ann Komarck , 79 of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away Thursday, May 14,2026 at her home under the loving care of her family. She was their heart and soul. She did her best to be the most wonderful wife, mother and grandmother ever. She was diagnosed with Dementia in 2014 and fought the dreaded disease with courage and dignity till her last breath. Cheryl was born in Battle Creek, Michigan on March 10, 1947, to Lyle R. Green and Mildred R. (Hanna) Green. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1965 and later graduated from Wrights Beauty Academy in Battle Creek as a beautician. She was employed by Kenneth’s of Urbandale Salon for several years. Later in Life Cheryl had worked in the mail room at Transamerica Tower in Battle Creek, Kellogg’s Science and Technology Information Center in Battle Creek as a clerk, and Murphy’s Bridal Boutique doing floral arrangements.
Cheryl was an avid reader, she enjoyed romance novels and magazines for homemakers. She was a creative scrapbooker, made many gifts for people using knitting and crocheting and loved making special candies and treats for the holidays. On July 25, 1970, Cheryl married Michael J. Komarck Jr, at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Battle Creek. Cheryl moved to Louisiana with her husband where he was stationed at the Fort Polk United States Army Hospital in Laboratory Services. The couple returned to Michigan in August 1971 and resided in East Lansing until June 1973 when they returned to Battle Creek.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents and nephew Jeffrey Green. She is survived by her sons, Michael J. (Jennifer Komarck), Dennis R. (Deanna) Komarck. Her grandsons Zachary R. (Raymond James) Komarck-Stone, Logan M. Komarck, Reese M. Komarck. A brother Daryl R. (Johanna) Green, a niece Kathy (Greg) Ellis, and great nieces and nephews.
Richard A. Henry Funeral Home will be handling the funeral arrangements. Visitation will be Tuesday May 19, 2026, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home from 4-7 P.M. Rosary to follow at 7 P.M. at the funeral home, 703 Capital Ave SW, Battle Creek, MI.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Battle Creek on May 20, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. with Father Cristopher Ankley officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. A luncheon will follow. www.henryfuneralhome.org
