Cheryll (Cheri) Lynn Hough, age 69, of Battle Creek, MI passed away on February 20, 2024, in Kalamazoo, MI. She was born on May 24, 1954, in Sturgis, Kentucky to Harold and Martha (Pat) Allen.
Cheri grew up in Battle Creek and lived in Kalamazoo for several years after graduation. She lived briefly in Texas and Arizona before making her way back to the Battle Creek area. She worked in the restaurant industry, including Champs, The Buckingham Inn and her most recent tenure at Cracker Barrel where her infectious personality earned her a multitude of lifelong friendships. She and her husband, Jerry, successfully launched and managed C&J Discount, a retail store in Springfield, MI for several years.
Cheri had a vibrant personality and was always entertaining to be around. She was naturally funny and had a way with words. You could always count on her to speak her mind! She loved to travel anywhere warm and spending summer evenings listening to music on her deck, having happy hour and making memories with family and friends. She enjoyed shopping, especially at Hobby Lobby and spending time with her grandchildren.
For the past three and a half years, Cheri battled Stage 4 Lung Cancer, but she did not let the cancer diagnosis dampen her spirit.
Cheri's memory is lovingly carried forward by her daughter, Tricia (Eric) Wilkey, brother Gary Steve Allen and sister Michelle (Bryan) Hoke. Grandchildren: Tiana (Brandon) Clark, Amber Feasel, Seth (Fanny) Feasel and Chelsea Feasel. Great grandchildren: Briella, Caliana, Ameilia and Isabella. Nephews: Matthew Pelton, Gary Allen, Zachary (Lindsey) Hoke and Andrew Hoke.
Cheri is reunited with her husband, Jerry Hough, her parents, and her sister, Patricia Gayle Allen.
Cheri was a free spirit. She lived a life full of love, humor, and courage. Her unforgettable personality and strength left an impression on everyone she met. She will always be remembered with a smile and will be greatly missed.
