Christal L. Collins

Christal L. Collins, age 65, of Battle Creek passed away on May 7, 2023. She was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, the daughter of Delbert Hemminger and Tressie (Creller) Green . Christal graduated in 1975 from Bellevue High School. She lived in Bellevue before making her home in Battle Creek. Christal previously worked at Goodwill Industries, Family Dollar and Pennfield Bus Garage. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. Christal also enjoyed cooking, camping, and spending time with her family. She was united in marriage on Oct. 24, 1978 to Robert Collins, he survives. Also surviving are her children; Darren (Angela) Collins, Chad Collins, Michael Collins, Robert Collins Jr., Ginger Collins-Dowdle all of Battle Creek, her brother James Hemminger and her best friend Cathy Woods of Lynnwood, Washington, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers; Larry, Allen (rocky), Duane, and David Green, sisters; Joyce Harley, Jeanette Bassler, and Jo Rabideau. The family will receive friends from 10:30am to 12:00pm, Monday, May 15, 2023, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, with the funeral service to follow at 12:00pm. Interment will take place at Hicks Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Christal's memory may be made to the American Legion Post 298.
