Daniel M. Norrod, age 76, of Battle Creek passed away on March 14, 2026, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born on March 13, 1950, in Battle Creek, the son of Bonnie and Barbara (Loveless) Norrod. Daniel was a lifelong resident of Battle Creek. He was previously employed by Shepherd’s Tree Service and the Iron Workers Local 340. He wasn’t the kind of man you could put in a box and he sure as hell wouldn’t have wanted you to try. He lived life full throttle, the kind most people only dream about but few ever dare to live. Whether he was out on the water fishing, chasing the horizon on his Harley, diving deep beneath the surface, or sitting around reminiscing and talking a little shit with the people he loved, he did everything his own way - loud, real, and unapologetic. He had a wild streak a mile wide and a heart just as big. He believed in freedom, in living hard, and in making stories worth telling. He didn’t follow the rules, didn’t care much for limits, and never pretended to be anything other than exactly who he was. That’s what made him unforgettable. He leaves behind memories filled with wind, water, and laughter and a reminder to the rest of us: don’t wait, don’t hold back, and don’t apologize for living life on your own terms. He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Norrod Jr., brother, Mike Norrod, brother, Jeff Norrod and a sister, Diane (Norrod) Yager. He is survived by the love of his life of 10 years, Charlene Mullins of Battle Creek, son, Darren (Drew) Norrod of Kansas City, daughters, Karla Jean Marsh and Krystal Mullins of Battle Creek, brothers, Keith Norrod of Texas, Chris Norrod of Colorado, nephews, Ben Yager, Stephen Titus, Jessie Titus. Daniel is also survived by his close friends; Bill Beatty, Kevin (Cindy) Persons, Joey “JT” Thompson, Gy McGee, Ron Shepherd, Jim Hart, Jay Titus, Tony Meredith and many many more. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral service scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Parker of Cornerstone Community Church officiating. Interment will follow the service at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Bikers Against Predators.
