David Paul Broomfield

David Paul Broomfield, age 71, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on June 1, 2026, at Hillside Elder Care Assisted Living Facility. David was born in Battle Creek, Michigan, to Johnie and Ora B. Broomfield. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and later went on to obtain a Registered Nursing degree.

David dedicated more than 20 years of service working at the Veterans Affairs Hospital, Evergreen Nursing Care and the City of Battle Creek in Battle Creek, Michigan. He took pride in his work. In his personal time, David enjoyed being outdoors, barbecuing, joking, laughing, and jive talking with family and friends.

David is survived by his children: Felicia and David Broomfield of Battle Creek, Michigan; and Danielle Harrington of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is also survived by special daughter Lateeka Morris; siblings Arnold and Andrew Williams, and Vickie and Johnie Broomfield; grandchildren David, Cierra, Rashawn, Ladaisa, and Davion; and eight great-grandchildren and a host of nephew, nieces and "Kinfolks"

He was preceded in death by his siblings Ernestine "June" Horton, Mary Jo, Richard "Box", Fred, Robin, Charles "Bean", and Michael Broomfield, his parents Johnie Broomfield, Mother Ora B. Warfield, Pops, Edward Warfield, and his grandson David A.D. Broomfield.

David will be remembered for his caring heart, sense of humor, and dedication to both his family and his community. His legacy of compassion, laughter, and service lives through all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
