David Shearer

David Shearer, age 86, of Battle Creek, passed away on January 6, 2026 at his residence. He was born on December 29, 1939 in Battle Creek, the son of David and Marion (Pashby) Shearer. David was a lifelong resident of Battle Creek. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1957, then went on to attend Kellogg Community College and Western Michigan University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Sales and Marketing. He was previously employed by the Kellogg Company, Burrill Brother’s Construction and Marshall Brass from 1975 until his retirement in 2004. David enjoyed the outdoors, which included golfing, fishing, exercise and traveling. David proudly served his country with the United States Air Force. He was united in marriage in 1963 to his wife Kathleen, she preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his parents, and a sister Sandra Everwine. Surviving are his sons; David (Jennifer) Shearer of Kalamazoo, Sam (Chiuchu) Shearer of Lake Forest, CA., and a brother, Dan Shearer of Battle Creek. Funeral service scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2026 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Service, with interment to follow at Hick’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions in David’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
