It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our Dennis Crane, 69 years old. Born November 18, 1956, to Margaret and Delmar Crane in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Dennis’s professional journey was one marked by a strong work ethic and a genuine commitment to his craft. He first began his career at F & A Fabricating for 20 years, where he quickly established a reputation for reliability and diligence. Demonstrating his capacity for leadership and mentorship, Dennis then worked as a representative for the union at local 7 in Lansing, Michigan for 20 years. Towards the end of his career, he rose to the position of Business agent at the local 7 where he would eventually retire.
Outside of his professional accomplishments, Dennis led a life rich in interests and passions. He was an avid outdoorsman, with a particular love for scuba diving, sailing, and canoeing—activities that reflected his affinity for adventure and appreciation for nature’s beauty. Social gatherings often found Dennis at the center, enjoying a game of horseshoes or darts, or delighting in the freedom of the open road on his motorcycle. A lover of music and an enthusiastic reader, Dennis was known for his curiosity and the joy he found in learning and discovery. He also took immense pleasure in camping and cooking, especially over an open fire, sharing these experiences with friends and family and creating cherished memories.
Dennis’s roles as a husband, father, and grandfather were among his greatest sources of pride and fulfillment. He is survived by his beloved wife, Theresa Crane; his devoted mother, Margaret Crane; and his siblings, Pam Crane and Lynn Crane. He leaves behind his son, Tim (Jessica) Crane, his step-son, Chad Dadow, and his cherished granddaughter, Taylor Crane. Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Delmar Crane.
No Funeral per Dennis’s request but a celebration of life will be held on Friday July 31, 2026, at the Moonraker restaurant 14490 Beadle Lake Rd, Battle Creek, MI 49014 from 1pm to 5pm.
