Diane L. Eisen

Diane L. Eisen, Age 69, of Battle Creek, Passed away July 19, 2023. She was born August 12, 1953, in Rice Lake, Wisconsin the daughter of Julian (Joe) Schieffer and Eva Schieffer (Drallmeier). Diane graduated from Lakeview High School in 1971. Diane welcomed everyone to Building Trades Credit Union, and Post Community Credit Union for years. Family and friends were central to Diane’s talents. Diane was there as room mom, lunch lady and softball coach. They learned to love the outdoors with camping and vacations, traditions her grandchildren got to enjoy too, always creating great memories. Diane and Dave knew Fort Custer and every walking trail in Battle Creek.  Flamingos? If you saw a pair of Pink Flamingos, Diane and Dave were probably near, they stowed away in every suitcase and were inflated upon arrival, adventures documented by Diane in their very own album. Diane supported Battle Creek, she will be missed after years of volunteer hours at the Battle Creek Field of Flight. The Zoo Boo had her talents, creating display and sewing the character costumes for as station from the first of many Zoo Boo years.  She and Dave were dependable blood donors, she gave more than 100 units. There were not many Optimist functions she missed, years in the cold, snow and rain for the Christmas Parade was just one of many times she showed up. Diane was married to David Eisen on January 22, 1972. He survives. Also surviving are her children, Terry (Julie) Eisen, and Traci Robinson, all of Battle Creek; Siblings: Darline Bailey of Battle Creek, Thomas (Natalie) Schieffer of Grand Rapids, MI. and Todd (Cheryl) Schieffer of Colorado.  Brother in law Eric (Eiko) Eisen of Battle Creek. Grandchildren: Annabelle Robinson, Abigail Robinson, Devinn Robinson, Elizabeth Huston, and Emily Bard. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Julian (Joe), Eva Schieffer, and brother-in-law Duncan Bailey, Eric and Lois Eisen and stepmother June Eisen, Memorial service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
