Donald Lee Maun

Donald Lee Maun, age 72, passed away unexpectedly on May 31, 2026. Born on October 15, 1952, Donald lived a life marked by service, hard work, loyalty, and love for those around him. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and later continued his dedication to veterans through his career with the Department of Veterans Affairs, where he retired after many years of service. He was also the proud owner of Don's Double Deuce, where he built friendships and shared countless stories over the years. Donald lived a life defined by service, dedication, and a deep love for his family, friends and pets. He found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time fishing, cheering on his favorite Detroit sports teams—the Tigers, Lions, and Pistons—and relaxing with a good Western movie. Whether he was watching a game, casting a line, or sharing stories with those he loved, he created memories that will be treasured forever. Those who knew him best will remember his strength, sense of humor, dependable nature, and the quiet way he showed his love.

Donald is survived by his children, Donald Maun (Jameela), Desiree Maun, and Heather Augustine; his grandchildren, Alexus "Willie” Williams, Luretha "Bear” Amerson, Glenn "Kris" "Dude”Amerson,, Kieryngton “Kee”Maun, Kingston Maun, Maeleigh Maun, and Maverick “Mavi”Maun; his great-grandchildren, Rondrell Jr. “Butbut”, Charly, Elijah Jr., Dravon “Biggie”, Bronx, and Kavel - and his dog, Delila. Nephews, Troy Etheridge (Rachel), Doug Etheridge and Niece Shawn Davidson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Maun; his father, Joseph Maun; his brother, Joseph Maun Jr.; his sister, Judith Michael; and his grandson, Elijah "Junior” Williams.

Donald rode through life the way the old cowboys did—with strength and grit when the trail was rough, humility when the trail was easy, and loyalty to the people who rode beside him. The campfire burns a little dimmer now, but the stories he left behind will be told for generations.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1 P.M., Friday, June 19,2026 at Richard A. Henry Funeral home with a funeral service starting 1 P.M. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society.

Don “Doc”, You fought a good fight.

The trail was long.

The ride was good.

Until we ride together again...

Ride easy, Doc.
