Dr. Barbara Ann Rupp

1931-2026

The dash between 1931 and 2026 was completed on February 3rd, 2026, when she left this life of wonder, beauty, and happiness to begin her eternal life with God the father. Her hope is that she will be remembered as a happy, fun-loving Christian and friend who loved her family and cared deeply for her friends. Barbara was born in Battle Creek, Michigan but grew up in Quincy, Michigan. She graduated from Quincy High School and married her soulmate H. Gene Rupp. She and Gene had two daughters, Kaprice, who married Craig Bray and Babette who married Thomas Whalen. These marriages produced four wonderful grandchildren, Josh and Trent Bray, and Sara and Seth Whalen. Barb also leaves behind two great granddaughters-in-law, Stephanie Bray and Natalie Keital0Whalen plus a great grandson in law, Matthew Cherry. She was fortunate enough to have six great grandchildren, Henry, Sophie and Hudson Cherry, Jackson and Harper Bray and Oliver Whalen. She considered her greatest life’s accomplishments as being married for 76 years to Gene, raising two talented and wonderful daughters, completing a college education with a PhD, being a teacher and administrator for 34 years. During those 34 years she taught at Springfield High School and later took her talents to Calhoun Area Vocational Center where she initially taught Data Processing. She later became an administrator for the Vocational Center. Through all of life’s challenges, completing the work for God’s plan for her was top priority. Friends Church became an important part of her life in the retirement years. What a life well lived.
