Edallean Carol Miller

Edallean Carol Miller, born December 23, 1940, in Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2023, at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility. She was a beloved member of the community and leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Edallean led a remarkable life filled with dedication and passion. She excelled in her career and made significant contributions to the organizations she served. With a strong work ethic, even at the age of 79, she brightened the days of countless customers at Mission Car wash for 12 years with her notable smile and friendly demeanor. Earlier, she served as an Administrative Assistant for both the Kellogg Community College Police Academy and Davenport/Argubright College, where her efficiency, event planning and professionalism were always appreciated. Moreover, some may recall her as Cosmetic Sales Associate at Herpolsheimer’s in downtown Battle Creek.

Education was important to Edallean, and she took pride in her academic achievements. She graduated from St. Phillip High School in 1959 and went on to attend Ferris State University.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Edallean had a multitude of interests that she wholeheartedly pursued. Crafting, knitting, sewing, travel, and cooking were among her favorites. She possessed a talent for creating beautiful handmade items and delicious meals that brought joy to many. Additionally, Edallean enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, embracing the excitement of trying her luck alongside good friends.

Edallean will always be remembered as the neighborhood seamstress—an expert with a needle and thread whose skills were appreciated. The meticulousness and creativity she poured into each project were evident in every stitch.

As much as Edallean achieved professionally and pursued her hobbies with passion, it was through her personal relationships that she left an indelible mark on the world. In high school, she was actively involved in the Statuette (yearbook) Staff at St. Phillips High School memorizing memories.  During motherhood, she played a vital role as a dedicated participant in the Leila Follies, an organization that brought entertainment and raised funds for Leila Hospital.  It was a great honor when she was named General Chairman for this organization in 1982.

Edallean's family and friends held a special place in her heart, and she cherished the time spent with them. She is preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother Joseph (Joey) Becoske and former husband Joseph Miller. Edallean is survived by her loving son Robert (Christine) Miller, daughter Lisa Williams, and grandson Gavin Williams.

Edallean Carol Miller will always be remembered for her incredible work ethic, selflessness, creativity, and love for those around her. She touched countless lives.

In honor of Edallean, a Celebration of Life for her family and close friends will be held in the near future.   In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Let us celebrate Edallean's life by embracing the lessons she taught us about love, compassion, and perseverance. May she rest in eternal peace knowing that she left an enduring legacy of goodness behind.  Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
