Farie McMillen

Farie Marie McMillen, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away on June 25, 2025, at the age of 97. She was born on February 10, 1928, in Albion, Michigan, where she established her roots and flourished as a cherished member of her community. Farie found joy in dancing, particularly in square dancing, and created many fond memories while traveling to various destinations. Her love for bowling and playing bunco brought friends and family together. The Christmas holiday held a special place in her heart, which she celebrated by hosting joyful family gatherings. These hobbies and activities brought her lifelong friends. Farie is survived by her children, Claud (Sylvia) McMillen of Battle Creek, Dan (Judy) McMillen of Delton, Debbie (Steve Vesosky) McMillen of Eaton New York, and Holly (Doug) Johnson of Battle Creek. She was especially proud of her grandchildren, Kristie (Mark) Champion, Troy (Tracy) McMillen, Jamie (Tim) VerStrate, Shana (Shawn) Payne, and Heather Music. Farie was also blessed with numerous great-grandchildren, including Nova, Excella, Sage, Dakota Music, Jacob, Ethan, Katie, Karile, Bryce, Asher, Isabell, Grace, and Audrey, each of whom brought her immense joy and love. Farie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Claude McMillen, her parents Arley and Blanche Bergstresser, her five siblings, and granddaughter, Brenda Dunn. A graveside service will be held on July 2, 2025, at Lyon Lake Cemetery in Marshall, Michigan, beginning at 11:00 AM. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
