Frances Mae Gorman

Passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Reflections Memory Care, Battle Creek. Frances was born on December 2, 1927, in Greenville, MI, the daughter of Harry and Leah (Johnson) Larsen. She graduated from Greenville High School and moved to the Battle Creek area in 1952. She married Arthur Gorman on August 16, 1952, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He preceded her in death. Frances worked in Greenville and Grand Rapids in Customer Service for Blue Cross and Blue Shield from 1952 to her retirement in 1988. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, former member of the Battle Creek Chapter of American Businesswomen, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority (life member), former member of Ultrua Club of Battle Creek, Marywood Country Club and the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Retirement Association. Frances enjoyed reading, walking, traveling, her pets and visiting with relatives. Surviving are nephews, Bruce Jorgensen of Lake Forest, IL, Marshall Higgins of Greenville, MI, nieces Mary Etta Basney of Greenville, MI, Janene Gunderson of Hudsonville, MI, and a special friend, Gary Moss of Battle Creek.

She was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Corey and Madelene Jorgensen,  nephew, Mark Higgins, great-nephew Scott Gunderson and great niece, Kari Lynn Basney. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Interment will take place at Castleview Memorial Gardens in New Castle, PA.
