George P. Channells III

May 4, 1953 — June 10, 2026

George P. Channells III, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and man of steadfast faith in Christ, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. His life was marked by quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and a deep commitment to those he cherished most.

George is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Catherine, who remained his steadfast companion through every season of life. He leaves behind his children, each of whom carries forward his resilience, humor, and heart: Curtis (Dawn) Channells, Timothy (Leann) Channells, Jeremy Channells, Erin (John) Clements, and George (Ashley) Channells IV.

He was immensely proud of his large and lively family, which includes 22 grandchildren and numerous great‑grandchildren, all of whom brought him immeasurable joy. He is also survived by his loving sister, Brook Kievit.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George and Pauline Channells, and his brothers Rodney, Joseph, and Todd, whose memories remained close to his heart throughout his life.

A man guided by faith, George found comfort, purpose, and hope in Christ. His belief shaped the way he loved, served, and encouraged others. He lived with a gentle steadiness that reflected his trust in God’s promises, and his family takes comfort in knowing he is now at peace in his eternal home.

George’s legacy is one of love, perseverance, and devotion. His presence filled every room with strength and love, and his absence will be felt profoundly by all who knew and loved him.

May he rest in peace, embraced by the Savior in whom he placed his faith.

Please join the family in celebrating his life at noon on June 20, 2026, at New Hope Community Church 436 Harris Street Charlotte, MI 48813. Visitation will start at 11am, and a reception following the service.
