Gloria “Jean” Hutchinson Born August 19, 1941 in Fulton County, Ohio to Clark and Amber Shaffer. Jean grew up in the Battle Creek area most of her young life and graduated in 1959 from Battle Creek Central High School. She went on the next year to Wrights Beauty School and gain her license to practice cosmetology and being a hair dresser in town. She did the hair for the local people for over 50 years and well know thru out the community for her craft.

Jean survived by her mother and father, Clark and Amber Shaffer, three (3) sisters Jan Rasmussen, Dee Wade, Patsy Ann Shaffer and Brother Clark Shaffer II ”Junior”.

She was married to Daivd Hutchinson and had five children between the two family. Daughter Shawn Hammer and son Todd Grant, Daughters Tammy Garries, Nikki Rice and son Todd Hutchinson.

Jean had a total of seven grand kids and five great grand kids here and in California.

Jeans sports were skiing and bowling as part of the local leagues thru out her days. But Jean loved to do crafts, sewing and knitting. She did painting on different cavasses and clothing. She would knit hats and donate them to the mission

Later in life she would join her sisters in the Jehovah Witness Church and join the Hall, truly embrace by the brothers and sisters in the fellowship with love that was shown her. Meeting with the ladies on Friday was a high point of her week.

Jean will be missed by all that knew her… good night…Mom.
