Gregg Leo Morris, 66, of Battle Creek, Michigan passed away April 22, 2026 in his home in Battle Creek.

Gregg was born in Xenia, Ohio, to Alex and Shirley Morris on March 8, 1960. He went to high school at Pontiac Catholic and graduated in 1978. He then attended Alma College. He had an extended and varied career. At times he was employed as: a character in costume who went to schools to educate children on appropriate touching, as a radio host in a couple of stations in southern Michigan, at a bookstore, manager at a dental office, a daycare worker, an interviewer, etc. He is most well known as an actor and director of theatre for several decades in well-received productions in the Battle Creek, Marshall and Athens community. Gregg loved to discuss topics and sharing his insights, ranging from contemporary culture to 1950s science fiction film and television with an extensive community of friends all over the country.

Gregg is survived by his sister Sheila of Grandville and her daughter Emily, his brother Charles of Flat Rock, a son Alex in Kalamazoo and daughter Olivia in Utah. He is preceded in death by his father Alex and his mother Shirley.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Benedict Catholic Church in Waterford on Saturday, May 2, at 10:30 with Rev. Charles Morris (Gregg’s brother) presiding. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Pontiac at 1:15 p.m. Visitation will take place at St. Benedict Church preceding the Mass at 9:30 a.m.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the theater Department at Kellogg Community College.

Gregg will be remembered for his amazing wit and good humor, his incredible knowledge on a wide range of topics, his artistic gifts he readily shared, and the grace and good humor with which he endured his physical challenges over many years.
