Gregory Paul Lampert

Gregory P. Lampert, 74, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away peacefully on August 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. He was cared for with kindness and compassion by the dedicated staff at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility in Battle Creek. Greg’s passing leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a deep sense of loss for all who knew and loved him. His family is grateful that he was surrounded by those who loved him and by caregivers who treated him with dignity, compassion, and respect in his final days.

Born on February 10, 1952, Greg lived a life focused on faith and family. After graduating from Charlotte High School in 1970, he continued his education by completing several business courses at Kellogg Community College. He began his manufacturing career at Clark Equipment, where he held a variety of roles that took him to North Carolina and Kentucky before eventually returning home to Battle Creek. He ultimately retired from Denso Manufacturing after nearly 30 years. Those who knew him will remember his strength, his generosity, and the genuine care he showed to the people he loved. Above all, he cherished his family and friends and the time they shared together.

Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Alice Lampert. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Judy Lampert.

He leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly: his wife, Sandy (Bursley) Lampert; his sons, Chad (Debbie) Lampert and Eric Lampert; his daughter, Aimee (Patrick) Kelly; and his beloved grandchildren, Jaelle Lampert, Hannah, Ryan, and Josh Kelly; Jaiden, Isaiah, Evan, Olivia, and Alee Lampert. He was a proud grandpa, “Papa,” who found great joy in watching his grandchildren grow, attending their sporting events, and celebrating their accomplishments.

Greg served in the National Guard and Army Reserves for 6 years. He was married to Sandy Lampert for 54 years. He was a longtime member of North Avenue Church of God in Battle Creek, Michigan, where he served on boards and committees, sang in the choir, and taught in the children’s and youth ministries. He found great joy in spending time with family and friends, playing golf, traveling, and discovering new and fun Florida destinations to enjoy during the winter months. He especially loved walking Florida’s beaches, exploring, and searching for seashells. An avid foodie, he also enjoyed discovering new restaurants and savoring good food along the way.

The family will receive friends 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday, August 28th at the North Avenue Church of God, 1079 North Avenue., Battle Creek, MI 49017 where services to celebrate Greg's life will begin at 11:00 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to the church, would be appreciated.  Arrangements by Richard A.
