Helen was called home with the Lord on Wednesday March 11,2026. She was the daughter of Jainie Tidwell. Mother of Johnny, Connie Goss, Brian Younglove, Stepdaughter Jill ( Tom) Bolhuis, Tina Stout. Half brother George(Cathy) of Clovis, NM. Many Grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Sister to James(Pookie), Billy (Teresa) Tidwell, Patty (Dick) Travis.
She was preceded in death of her husband of 46 years Eugene Younglove. She shared many years with him supporting his and her love of field trialing some the best bird dogs. She enjoyed all the comadre with all the members being secretary raising funds, organizing potlucks. In 1977 she wrote a article concerning the love bond she developed for the dogs “Bitten By The Bug” it was featured in the American Brittany Magazine. She was very happy in her married life with Gene . She would tell people he was” the most loving, giving, honest, trustworthy man she had ever known. She was left with much sadness when he was called home to the Lord.
She held many jobs in her lifetime. Her most favorite was working the banks in the mortgage servicing department, she really felt like she was helping people in getting a home.
She liked life in her early days she would sing in a band at Greens Tavern. Her nickname was “Hank”. Proud Mary was belted out in her Delhi, La voice. She loved people and didn’t like being alone. She was the girl who attended all the school dances in the 60’s. She hung out with her best friend Pam Austin until her death.
She loved to crochet. She made blankets and afghan’s for family and friends. She had the most beautiful handwriting using all her calligraphy skills. Family had her to fill out all invitations. She loved to do a little bit of a showing off when it came to that.
She loved all her family! She was a proud mother of Brian.
Helen loved being surrounded by Jill’s family. She was so proud how Jill and Tom raised the kids and how well they turned out. She appreciated all the love and help she got from them.
Tina was special to her, reconnecting with her after moving back Battle Creek. Tina was her “go to” girl for sharing things. If you wanted to know what Helen was up to just call Tina, she was the mostly likely to know.
She enjoyed hanging out with her older brother James and all his kids and lots of grandkids .
When she needed a mechanic or fix it man she would call her younger brother Billy. She knew she’d be in good hands. He would tell her what she had to do for a resolution.
One of her favorite memories is when all of the Battle Creek family got to host a trip from George and Cathy from New Mexico. It was a good reunion.
Patty, her younger sister, made a memorable trip to Shipswana flea market. She was in an electric cart and about took out a booth just to look at items for sale.
She loved all her friends and considered them extended family. You knew if you were a friend or not!
Her favorite hymns were Amazing Grace, I’ll fly away and Imagine. She stood by Psalms 23 and 100.
Helen’s wishes were not to have a service. No flowers or sadness. She wanted her family and friends to be happy that she’s now in the hands of the Lord, alongside her mother and husband.
For many, Helen has left this world but for the family and friends that loved her she will remain in our hearts forever. God Bless!
