James "Jim" J. Jarmul

James “Jim” J. Jarmul, age 75, of Battle Creek, passed away on November 26, 2024 at The Legacy of Battle Creek, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 2, 1949 in Battle Creek, the son of Edward and Betty (McNeil) Jarmul. Jim was a lifelong area resident. He graduated in 1967 from St. Philip Catholic Central High School, then went on to become an electrician with the IBEW Local 445 from which he retired in 2010. Jim was a member of St. Philip Catholic Church. He enjoyed playing pool, cards, and was an avid fan of Notre Dame football. Jim’s real enjoyment was spending time with his family and socializing with his fellow union members. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Elizabeth Walton. James was united in marriage on February 7, 1975 to Meredith Casey, she survives. Also surviving are his children; Natalie Jarmul and Adrianne (Brian) Gelletich, both of Battle Creek, brother, Robert Jarmul of South Bend, Indiana, and a granddaughter, Haley Barnes of Battle Creek. Memorial Mass scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 5, 2024 at St. Philip Catholic Church where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations to be directed to St. Philip Catholic Church Building Fund, Calhoun County Animal Shelter, or Bronson Cancer Center in Battle Creek.
