James Lipps, Sr.

Died Saturday December 11, 2021, at Glenn Arbor Place with his family by his side. James was born on February 20, 1942, in Battle Creek, the son of William and Leona (Coleman) Lipps. He was a 1960 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963. James was employed with the Kellogg Company from 1964 until his retirement. On December 26, 1994, he was united in marriage to the former Elaine C. Haroff, who survives. He was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club, the Grain Millers Union and St. Philip Roman Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking, fishing and hunting. Surviving are sons, James C. (Kim) Lipps, Jr., and William L. (Wendy) Lipps; daughters, Barbara J. (Darrin) Garms, Jenny M. (Garold) Simison Anita (Bryan) Hardin; 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and the family will do services at a later date. Memorials may be directed to The American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
