Jerry Alan Messenger

Jerry A Messenger, 80, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, in Battle Creek. Jerry was born on February 3, 1946, in Battle Creek, the son of Burton H. and Grace A. (Henry) Messenger. He had been a lifelong resident of the area. Jerry was a graduate of Pennfield schools, and went on to serve in the U.S. Navy. He married the former Karen Gregurich who preceded him in death in 2001. Jerry was employed by Grand Trunk railroad for four and a half years before retiring as an electrician at the Kellogg Company for 28 and a half years. Surviving his children, Kellie G Shulters, Teresa L. Bailey (Tim Bailey) and Brian B. Messenger (Nancy Messenger); seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a sister Della McClain. He was preceded in death by his wife Karen; brothers, James Messenger and Daniel Messenger; a sister, Judy C. Mackinder. Jerry was an avid big game hunter, gun enthusiast, he loved the outdoors and traveling. Jerry was a very loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Along with being a great friend and mentor to so many more. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 13780 P DR N Battle Creek 49014, Wednesday July 8th from 4pm to 8pm for family and friends.
