Joanne Lee Heinrich

Joanne Lee (Kloack) Heinrich, age 93 of Battle Creek, MI passed away on 4/23/2024 in Battle Creek, MI. Joanne was born in Battle Creek to LaRose A (Sypher) Kloack on November 19, 1930. She graduated from Lakeview High School in 1949. Shortly thereafter, she married Charles Albert Heinrich. Joanne and Charles had two children, William and Beth, and countless grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  Joanne and Charles were married for over 60 years in happiness, often enjoyed in the company of a loving family; usually with Joanne instructing the family where and how to place furniture and decorations before giving everything a final white glove inspection. Despite their best efforts, an A- was the final grade. She was most happy surrounded by her family, in a somehow too small house with somehow too much food and somehow just enough love.  While best known as a matriarch for her family, Joanne did work for the Battle Creek Township office in the treasury, later in the tax office of the City of Battle Creek. She would also work for her same Lakeview High School as a cook, ensuring the Spartans of the future received (which cannot be confirmed or denied, by the way) an extra serving or two.  Funeral service scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 4, 2024 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Battle Creek, where she will be laid to rest alongside her loving and loyal husband. Though she is physically with us no more, her spirit remains in the arms of God and the hearts of those who had the pleasure to know her and her mischief.   Memorial donations in Joanne’s memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.  Memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
