John W. Morgan

John W. Morgan, age 71, of Springfield, Michigan passed away on April 29, 2024 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.   He was born on February 20, 1953 in Battle Creek, the son of Billy and Grace (Beaty) Morgan.  John was a lifelong resident, graduating from Springfield High School in 1971.  He was previously employed by Musashi Auto Parts, Michigan National Bank, Quality House Beverages, Eaton Manufacturing, Community Hospital, 7-11 Store, Boron Gas Station, and as a firefighter for Springfield Fire Department for over 30 years.   John had several interests and hobbies including bowling, playing cards, chess, and puzzles.  He was an avid Star Trek and Nas car- “Chase Elliott” fan.  John enjoyed traveling with his wife, and spending time at the lake with his family.  He was excited to be a first time Great Grandfather to Eleanore Lea Grace Best to be born in July.  John proudly served his country with the United States Marines.  John was preceded in death by his parent.  John was united in marriage on April 1, 1972 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church to Rossene Strowbridge, she survives.  Also surviving are his daughters; Nicole (Michael) Anderson of Navarre, FL., Heather (Dave) England of Portage, MI., grandsons; Brent Anderson, Michael (Faith Hartman) England, granddaughter, Hayley (Ronnie Best ) England, and several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.   Visitation will take place on Sunday, May 5, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services.  Funeral service scheduled for 1:00 p.m., Monday, May 6, 2024 at the funeral home, Pastor Paul Parker officiating.  Interment will follow the service at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Memorial contributions in John’s memory may made to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.  Memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.org
