Passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022. John was born on January 7, 1924, in Battle Creek, the son of Michael and Mary (Pollack) Zidarevich. He had been a lifelong resident of the area and attended St. Philip Catholic Schools. He was a veteran serving in the U.S. Army during WWII receiving a Purple Heart , Bronze Star, Good Conduct, American Service, European African Middle Eastern Medals. On June 1, 1946, he was united in marriage to the former Theresa Pavlekovich who preceded him in death on November 1, 2017. John was employed with the Kellogg Company as a mechanic for 43 years until his retirement in 1986. He was a member of St. Philip Roman Catholic Church, the Kellogg 25 Year Club and a lifetime member of the Croation Lodge 533. John enjoyed bowling, baseball, all sports especially Notre Dame Football and loved his family. Surviving are his children, Joanne (Fred) Ragla, Carol (Jim) Hufnagel and John Zidarevich all of Battle Creek; 4 grandchildren, Jill (Ryan) Fausey, Dawn (Jason) Bledsoe, Tony Ragla and Lisa (Bill) Forrest and 6 great grandchildren; Brooke, Brady, Ben and Bryce Fausey, Abryana and Logan Bledsoe; a sister-in-law, JoAnn Zidarevich of Battle Creek. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Brad Hufnagel on February 15, 1992; brothers, Steve and Rudy Zidarevich and a sister-in-law, Barb Zidarevich. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 to 5:00 p.m., at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home and Cremation Services with a Rosary at 5:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 24, 2022, at St. Philip Roman Catholic Church. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the St. Philip Restoration Fund or BCACS Foundation. www.henryfuneralhome.org
