Joseph M. Jordan, Age 80, born on February 3, 1945, in Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on January 9, 2026. He was admired for his dedicated service, having retired after 37 years from Ralston, where he made many friends and left an enduring legacy.
A proud graduate of Harper Creek High School, Class of 1963, Joseph was a man of many passions. He cherished his time with his children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories through various activities. He found joy in oil painting, golfing, and indulging in the thrill of visiting casinos. His love for the Detroit Lions and playing games with family highlighted his spirited personality, while holiday cooking became a family tradition that many will remember fondly. Joseph’s adventurous spirit led him to enjoy camping trips, fairs, and coloring eggs during festive times with his family. He was especially fond of his beloved German Shepherd, Athena, who brought him great joy.
Joseph was united in marriage to the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth Elko, on October 9, 1971. Their bond symbolized true companionship, lasting until her passing. He is survived by his children, Julie (Chad) Jordan of Bellevue and Joe (Amanda) Jordan, alongside his granddaughters, Sydney (Mitchel) Thompson and Jade (Thomas) Reed, and great-grandchildren, Sommer, Sutton, and Baby Thompson, who is yet to arrive. Joseph also leaves behind his brother, James Jordan of California, Brother-in-law Jimmy Gardner and Nephew Bobby Rae.
He was preceded in death by his dear wife, Mary Elizabeth; his parents, Albert and Mary Jordan; and siblings John, Bill, Helen, Rosie, Mary Ann, and Albert Jordan.
Visitation will be held at Richard A Henry Funeral Home in Battle Creek on January 16, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Donations can be made to SJ Flower House LLC 9950 S Clark Road, Nashville MI 49073.
