Josephine McCrory

Josephine Ann Ortega McCrory (Josie to her friends or simply Auntie Penny) age 78 of San Pedro, CA passed away on Saturday, June 27 in Battle Creek, MI.

Josie was born to Joseph and Henrietta Ortega on May 7, 1948, the youngest of four children. She went to John Glenn High School in Norwalk, CA. She loved to see the sights in America, playing board games and listening to Vicente Fernandez.

Josephine is survived by three adult children, Kurt Alcantar, Mark McCrory and Brandi McCrory, many grandchildren and her sister Rachel W. and brother Manuel O. She leaves behind two grandchildren who she raised and adored, Gabriella McCrory and Joseph McCrory. She is preceded in death by her husband Fred McCrory, Jr., her mother and father, and her sister Estella.

A viewing will be held at Richard A. Henry Funeral home in Battle Creek, MI on Thursday, July 2 from 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 3 at 12:00 pm.

Her final wish was to be laid to rest with her husband in Riverside National Cemetery in California. A future date will be set to celebrate her life in California.
