Joyce embarked on a commendable career at Kellogg Company, where she served diligently for 25 years and later took pride in her role cleaning houses for another decade. Her work ethic exemplified her commitment to providing for her family.
Joyce married the love of her life, Kenneth Harold Swanson, on October 11, 1952. Together they built a life filled with warmth and love, raising their sons and nurturing a strong family bond. Joyce was a cherished mother to Dan (Mindi) Swanson and Ron Swanson and a beloved grandmother to Korey, Kristie, Andy, Ryan, Cody, Christopher. Her family continued to grow through the years, and she took immense joy in her 14 great-grandchildren.
An avid lover of nature and leisure, Joyce enjoyed vacationing in the beautiful mountains of Tennessee and the sunny landscapes of Florida. She delighted in playing bingo, engaging in crafts, tending to her flowers, solving puzzles, and painting, sharing her creativity with those around her.
Joyce is predeceased by her husband Kenneth, her father Kenneth Clayton Burkett, her mother Velma Louise Burton, her sister Joann Lynn Mathis, and her son Clayton Swanson. She will be mourned deeply and remembered profoundly by her surviving family members, who carry forward her spirit of love, resilience, and joy. Joyce Swanson's legacy will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
