Larry R. Porter

Larry R. Porter, age 78, of Battle Creek Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on November 22, 2025 at his home. He was born on August 20, 1947, in Battle Creek, the son of Lawrence and Caroline (Wolfe) Porter. Larry was a lifelong area resident, graduating in 1965 from Pennfield High School. Following graduation, he enlisted and served in the United States Air Force. Larry was employed by the Battle Creek VA Medical Center, retiring in September 2016 after 39 years. Larry and his son were avid bowlers, as members of the bowling leagues at M-66 Bowl for many years. Larry was a major supporter and fan of his son, attending every athletic event Larry participated in. He was an animal lover, enjoyed camping, and took immense pride in his meticulous yard at home. Larry's favorite activity to take part in was spending time with his family and making wonderful memories. Larry was united in marriage on April 1974 to Autumn Wright, she preceded him in death in 2013. Also preceding him in death were his parents, and brother Don Porter. Larry is survived by his children, Larry (Lauren) Porter of Battle Creek, Scott (Kelly) Williams of Florida, Lucky (Angie) Williams of Wisconsin, Ben Williams of Battle Creek, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral service scheduled 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the funeral home, Rev. Gloria Taft officiating. Interment will take place at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
