Leah L. Dixon

Leah Lamara (Rayburn) Dixon, resident of Battle Creek, Michigan, went to her heavenly home on December 7th, 2025, at the age of 68. She was born June 7th, 1957, to Hurbert Leon Rayburn and Marieda Bell Rayburn. She attended Eisenhower High School in Saginaw and graduated in the class of 1976. Leah served as the pianist at the church her father established, Dexter Lake Church of God, for several years. There she remained a proud and faithful member until her death. She owned a cleaning business, “Dirt Be Gone”, and retired from Walmart after 15 years of service.

Leah loved riding her John Deere Tractor and enjoyed doing yardwork while her 4-legged sidekick, Munson, stayed by her side. She was very artistic and painted the church nursery with Disney Characters as well as her children's nursery with Care Bears and Precious Moments. Her family says she lived life with a smile on her face and laughter in her heart. She knew no stranger and loving people came naturally. She had a gift for making others feel seen and welcome, always quick with a witty remark and a friendly comeback that could lift spirits without even trying. She deeply loved her family and especially cherished her children and grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. She also loved her brothers and sisters wholeheartedly and enjoyed sharing “flashbacks from the past,” filled with good old stories and practical jokes that always brought laughter. She was recently preceded in death by her loving husband, whom she devotedly and tenderly cared for until the very end. An amazing, loving mother and grandmother; her warmth, kindness, and joyful spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

Leah is survived by her children, Lamara Hulsebos, Jason Dixon, and Tony Dixon; her grandchildren, Gavin Dixon, Alyvia Dixon, Drake Hulsebos, Skylar Hulsebos, Rylen Dixon and Alexia Dixon. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Dixon, her parents, Hurbert and Marieda Rayburn, as well as her brother, Arlan Rayburn, and sister, Merryell (Rayburn) Burbach.

A celebration of life will be held at Vale Street Venue, 1745 E. Columbia Ave, Battle Creek, from 1-4pm on Saturday, January 24, 2026. Memorials may be made to Dexter Lake Church of God, 155 E. Michigan Ave., Battle Creek, MI 49014. www.henryfuneralhome.org
