Leonard Wanzer

Leonard Eugene Wanzer, 86, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Leonard was born on February 26, 1934 in Battle Creek, Michigan to John Edward Wanzer and Martha Elizabeth Richardson-Wanzer, both deceased.  Leonard grew up in Battle Creek, Michigan, and graduated from Battle Creek Central in 1952.  He served in the U.S. Army for four years. He retired from the Kellogg Company after 27 years and he belonged to the Kellogg Company 25 Year Club. Throughout his life he enjoyed golfing, snow skiing, dining at fine restaurants, and vacationing across the world. While his travels brought him around the world, his yearly vacation spot was Orlando, Florida. He enjoyed many Michigan winters there with his beloved wife, Emily.  Leonard not only touched the lives of his family members, but the lives of so many others with his infectious spirit and heart of gold. He was a wonderful, caring, and generous husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He will be deeply missed.  He is survived by his wife Emily Sue Barbee-Wanzer, Battle Creek, Michigan (64 years of marriage), three children, Lennie Sue Wanzer-Vargas, (Tony), Kalamazoo, Michigan, Sharon Elizabeth Wanzer, Kalamazoo, Michigan, John Edward Wanzer, (Patty), Alexandria, Virginia, three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.  A funeral service will be held at the Richard A.
