Linda Craig

Linda Casterline Craig passed away peacefully on August 5,2026 at the age of 85. She was born October 21, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of John Bartok and Rosalie (Avani) Bartok. She married Stanley E. Casterline July 6, 1957. They established their home in Level Park and raised 5 daughters. They were married 36 years before his passing in 1993.

Her family was her pride and joy. She loved working outside in the flower gardens, baking family recipes that were handed down from her mom and mother-in-law. She was an avid Detroit Tiger fan.

In her younger years she enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing and going up north with family and friends. One of her favorite pastimes was her monthly get together with her Bunco/Canasta girls. It was always a time of fun and laughter. The gals looked forward to her peanut butter fudge.

Linda loved being a dog mom to Daisy and Mindy. She worked at Keiper Manufacturing for 18 years, leaving to marry Clifford Craig on September 9, 1995. He proceeded her in death in May of 2000. In 1998, she went to work at Schlotzsky’s at the downtown Battle Creek location doing all the baking. Linda retired after 25 years.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters; Brenda (Dale) Traister, Karen (Mark) Halstead, Teresa (Jaye) Tkac, and Becky (Rick) Kitchen. Stepchildren; Janna (Jerry) Craig-Lehman, and Wade (Judy) Craig. Grandchildren; Time Traister, Cari (Jesse) Stewart, Jayeson (Carrie) Tkac, Joshua (Michelle) Halstead, Ashlee (Rob) Reardon, Zachary Kitchen, Jacob Kitchen, Ben Kitchen. 12 Great-grandchildren. Brothers; Gilbert Bartok, Robert (Linda) Avani, Nathan (Jose) Avani. As well as her dear friend, Mary Brown.

Linda was proceeded in death by her Husband Stanley Casterline, Husband Fred Craig. Daughter; Tina Casterline Gwynne, Brother; Richard Bartok, Granddaughter; Meagan Halstead.

Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home (703 Capital Ave SW, Battle Creek, MI). A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:30 PM. Linda Craig will be laid to rest at Bedford Township Cemetery. Memorials can be sent to Battle Creek Cancer Center & Humane Society of South- Central Michigan, Battle Creek.
